In the tradition of its namesake, the Moses White Foundation seeks to improve the lives of the underprivileged in Tampa, Fl., leading to a sustainable, thriving Tampa community.

With a focus on vulnerable communities, the Moses White Foundation strives to improve opportunities and enhance lives in Tampa’s underprivileged community. Through strategic partnerships, community service, and access to traditional education and vocational scholarships, the Moses White Foundation will enable those it serves to advance in life with a sense of community, self-reliance and accomplishment that benefits future Tampa generations.

The Moses White Foundation will work to sponsor and provide the following programs:

Traditional Education Scholarships: While Moses White had only a third-grade education, all of his seven children attended college or university. Education was very important to him and his beloved wife, Lucille. He believed that education was one way to secure a better place and lifestyle. The Moses White Foundation will provide scholarships to chosen college/university Juniors and seniors from Tampa to help them complete their education and work toward a successful life with a focus on giving back to their community.

Vocational Scholarships: Knowing that a community thrives when all of its members can take part in its building, development and success, the Moses White Foundation seeks to build skills and encourage successful businesses in all Tampa communities. The Moses White Foundation is developing partnerships with technical centers to provide vocational scholarships to promising students learning key trades. To date, the Foundation has provided 8 scholarships to needy students focused on vocations such as auto mechanics, electricians, plumbing, etc.

Community Engagement and Revitalization Initiatives: Engaging in the community and working together to strengthen the community is key to community success. The Moses White Foundation will work to provide opportunities for community engagement, participation and revitalization among Tampa’s underprivileged.
